<p>In mobile marketing, it&#8217;s easy to fall into the trap of common assumptions. One prevalent belief is that users with low in-app currency balances, are &#8220;low engaged users&#8221; who will always have a low Click-Through Rate (CTR).</p>

<p>We held this belief, too, but a series of A/B tests challenged our thinking. The results were surprising. We discovered that <strong>&#8220;low engaged users&#8221; are not always synonymous with low CTR</strong>.</p>

<p>This article shares four key, data-backed lessons from six push notification experiments that can help any marketer optimize their strategy and better resonate with their audience.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lesson 1: Personalization Trumps Social Proof for Unengaged Users (Test 1)</h3>

<p><strong>The Hypothesis:</strong> Our team&#8217;s starting assumption was that users with a low S-Coin balance were low-engagement users with low CTR, while high-balance users were active and engaged, leading to high CTR.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><tbody><tr><td>Header</td><td>Body</td><td>CTR</td><td>Style</td></tr><tr><td><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2728.png" alt="✨" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Unlock Your VIP Reward</td><td>Congratulations! You&#8217;re invited to redeem this reward with 496 S-Coin &gt;</td><td>4.42%</td><td>Personalization</td></tr><tr><td><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2728.png" alt="✨" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Unlock Your VIP Reward</td><td>Congratulations! You&#8217;re invited to redeem this reward with 6,160 S-Coin &gt;</td><td>5.70%</td><td>Personalization</td></tr><tr><td><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f525.png" alt="🔥" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 9/10 People Love This Reward</td><td>This popular reward is trending now! Redeem with 4,225 S-Coin &gt;</td><td>1.62%</td><td>Social Proof</td></tr><tr><td><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f525.png" alt="🔥" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 9/10 People Love This Reward</td><td>This popular reward is trending now! Redeem with 21,990 S-Coin &gt;</td><td>2.06%</td><td>Social Proof</td></tr><tr><td><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f525.png" alt="🔥" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 9/10 People Love This Reward</td><td>This popular reward is trending now! Redeem with 28,000 S-Coin &gt;</td><td>1.90%</td><td>Social Proof</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<p></p>

<p><strong>The Test:</strong> We segmented our users by S-Coin tier. We sent a <strong>&#8220;Personalization&#8221;</strong> style caption (e.g., &#8220;<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2728.png" alt="✨" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Unlock Your VIP Reward&#8221;) to the lower S-Coin tiers (2,500 &#8211; 15,000). For the high S-Coin tiers (15,000 &#8211; 200,000), we used a <strong>&#8220;Social Proof &amp; FOMO&#8221;</strong> style caption (e.g., &#8220;<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f525.png" alt="🔥" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 9/10 People Love This Reward&#8221;).</p>

<p><strong>The Surprising Outcome:</strong> The results were &#8220;out of expectation&#8221;. The low S-Coin tiers, who received the personalization-style message, achieved their highest-ever CTRs, ranging from <strong>4.42% to 5.70%</strong>. Conversely, the high S-Coin tiers, who received the social proof message, had a <em>lower</em> CTR than we expected (1.62% &#8211; 2.06%), which was below their usual average of 2.5% &#8211; 4%.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p><strong>The Takeaway:</strong> This test was a powerful reminder that &#8220;low engaged users is not always = low CTR&#8221;. By using the right style of caption—in this case, personalization—we were able to resonate with them.</p>
</blockquote>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lesson 2: When in Doubt, Use Text-Only (Tests 2, 3, &amp; 4)</h3>

<p>It&#8217;s a common belief that a rich push notification with a banner or product image will always outperform plain text. We tested this hypothesis three times, and the results were consistently in favor of text.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img decoding="async" width="900" height="1024" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Media-900x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-894" style="width:336px;height:auto" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Media-900x1024.jpg 900w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Media-264x300.jpg 264w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Media-768x873.jpg 768w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Media.jpg 1312w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>
</div>

<p><strong>The Tests:</strong> We ran three separate experiments to see how a banner would affect CTR.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="333" height="347" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-11.png" alt="" class="wp-image-891" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-11.png 333w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-11-288x300.png 288w" sizes="(max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Test 2: <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification with Text Only vs with banner image</mark> result (Niche Products)</mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="403" height="416" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-12.png" alt="" class="wp-image-892" style="width:333px;height:auto" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-12.png 403w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-12-291x300.png 291w" sizes="(max-width: 403px) 100vw, 403px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Test 3: <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification with Text Only vs with banner image</mark></mark> result (Popular Products)</mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="371" height="134" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-10.png" alt="" class="wp-image-893" style="width:331px;height:auto" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-10.png 371w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-10-300x108.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Test 4: <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification with Text Only vs with Text-based banner result</mark></mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<ol start="1" class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Niche Products (Test 2):</strong> We tested Image vs. Text-Only notifications for products that sold less than 5 units. Overall, <strong>Text-Only won with a 2.12% CTR</strong> compared to Image&#8217;s 1.82% CTR.</li>

<li><strong>Top-Selling Products (Test 3):</strong> We repeated the test, this time using top-selling products. The results were very similar: <strong>Text-Only won again</strong>. While the gap was closer (1.16% vs 0.96%), Text-Only still performed better.</li>

<li><strong>General Text Banner (Test 4):</strong> We tested a simple Text-Only notification against one with a text-based banner (e.g., &#8220;As low as 1,000 S-Coin&#8221;). Once more, <strong>Text-Only outperformed the banner version, 2.21% vs. 1.75%</strong>.</li>
</ol>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="285" height="217" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-13.png" alt="" class="wp-image-895"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Test 4: text-based banner app push notification</mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p><strong>The Takeaway:</strong> Text-Only consistently performed better because it creates curiosity. Users don&#8217;t know the product and are &#8220;willing to discover&#8221; it. An image, on the other hand, immediately reveals the product and price, which may not attract users who aren&#8217;t interested. In the case of the text banner, the image added no new information, creating a &#8220;disjointed and confusing experience&#8221;.</p>
</blockquote>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lesson 3: Keep it Clean and Personal (Test 5)</h3>

<p><strong>The Hypothesis:</strong> We wanted to test if adding numbers to the header or using emojis would grab user attention and improve CTR.</p>

<p><strong>The Test:</strong> We ran an A/B test on users with over 2,500 S-Coin. We tested two variables:</p>

<ol start="1" class="wp-block-list">
<li>Emojis in the caption vs. No Emojis.</li>

<li>A header with numbers (e.g., &#8220;As Low As 15,500 S-Coin&#8221;) vs. a personal header (e.g., &#8220;Just for YOU&#8221;).</li>
</ol>

<p><strong>The Outcome:</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="334" height="101" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-7.png" alt="" class="wp-image-897" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-7.png 334w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-7-300x91.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Caption with Emojis Test Result</mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="841" height="78" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-9.png" alt="" class="wp-image-898" style="width:671px;height:auto" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-9.png 841w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-9-300x28.png 300w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-9-768x71.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 841px) 100vw, 841px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification Header Without Numbers Result</mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="897" height="187" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-8.png" alt="" class="wp-image-899" style="width:673px;height:auto" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-8.png 897w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-8-300x63.png 300w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-8-768x160.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 897px) 100vw, 897px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification Header With Numbers Result</mark></figcaption></figure>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>No Emojis won:</strong> Captions <em>without</em> emojis had a significantly higher CTR of <strong>0.87%</strong> compared to 0.62% for captions <em>with</em> emojis.</li>

<li><strong>Personal header won:</strong> The &#8220;Just for YOU&#8221; header achieved a <strong>1.33% CTR</strong>, while the various headers starting with numbers had an average CTR of 1.21%.</li>
</ul>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p><strong>The Takeaway:</strong> The conclusion was clear: users with S-Coin balances preferred push notifications that were <strong>&#8220;Clean &amp; easy to read&#8221;</strong>. A personal, simple message like &#8220;Just for YOU&#8221; in the header was more effective than a header loaded with numbers, proving that numbers in the header do not always equal a high CTR.</p>
</blockquote>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lesson 4: Frame Your Offer as a Starting Point (Test 6)</h3>

<p><strong>The Hypothesis:</strong> How you frame your offer matters. We wanted to know which caption would perform better: &#8220;Rewards Below xxx S-Coin&#8221; or &#8220;Start From xxx S-Coin&#8221;.</p>

<p><strong>The Test:</strong> We targeted users with S-Coin and tested these two caption styles against each other.</p>

<p><strong>The Outcome:</strong> The &#8220;Start From xxx S-Coin&#8221; caption <strong>outperformed its counterpart, 2.94% vs. 2.46%</strong>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="555" height="187" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-902" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image.png 555w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-300x101.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Test 6: <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification with low entry point result</mark></mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="187" src="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-1.png" alt="" class="wp-image-903" style="width:554px;height:auto" srcset="https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-1.png 600w, https://yapcienchen.chalbum.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/image-1-300x94.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">Test 6: <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color">App Push Notification with ceiling price result</mark></mark></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p><strong>The Takeaway:</strong> People are more likely to tap when they see a low entry point. The &#8220;Start From&#8230;&#8221; message &#8220;instantly communicates affordability and lowers perceived commitment&#8221;. Conversely, a price ceiling like &#8220;Rewards Below&#8230;&#8221; doesn&#8217;t feel exciting and may even register as expensive, which can reduce engagement.</p>
</blockquote>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion: Your New Rules for Push Notification A/B Testing</h3>

<p>These six experiments provided us with four counter-intuitive but powerful lessons that have reshaped our push notification strategy:</p>

<ol start="1" class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Re-engage &#8220;lost&#8221; users</strong> with personalization. Don&#8217;t assume low-balance users are a lost cause; they may just be waiting for a message that resonates.</li>

<li><strong>Default to Text-Only</strong> to drive curiosity. An image isn&#8217;t always better and can sometimes hurt CTR by revealing the product too early.</li>

<li><strong>Prioritize simplicity.</strong> Users often prefer clean, easy-to-read messages over cluttered notifications with emojis or redundant numbers.</li>

<li><strong>Frame your value</strong> with a low entry point. &#8220;Start From&#8230;&#8221; invites users in, while &#8220;Rewards Below&#8230;&#8221; can feel like a limit.</li>
</ol>

<p>Stop guessing and start testing. What you find might surprise you.</p>

<p><strong>Background / Problem</strong><br>We created a <strong>new sender address</strong> to improve campaign segmentation and deliverability tracking.<br>However, because this was a <strong>brand-new sender domain</strong>, it initially had <strong>no reputation</strong> with mailbox providers — posing a high risk of emails landing in spam folders or being throttled.<br>The key objective was to <strong>gradually build a positive sender reputation</strong> through a structured warm-up process before moving to full-scale email campaigns.</p>

<p><strong>Actions Taken</strong><br>The email warm-up was executed over <strong>three distinct phases</strong> from <strong>May to October 2025</strong>, with careful monitoring of delivery and engagement metrics:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Phase 1 (Starting May 2025):</strong><br>Initiated with a small batch of emails to verified, high-engagement recipients. Sending volume was gradually increased to signal consistent and trustworthy behavior to inbox providers.<br>However, a <strong>temporary pause</strong> was required after an overly rapid volume increase led to a minor reputation drop.</li>

<li><strong>Phase 2 (Starting July 2025):</strong><br>Once the new sender reputation stabilized at <em>Medium</em>, warm-up resumed with moderate sending volume. This phase faced some interruptions due to content readiness and a minor dip in reputation, prompting another short pause for system calibration.</li>

<li><strong>Phase 3 (Starting August 2025):</strong><br>Relaunched under a <strong>controlled and optimized schedule</strong>. The team closely monitored metrics such as delivery rate, open rate, and engagement consistency. The steady volume scaling and improved content quality successfully strengthened the sender’s domain reputation — reaching <em>High</em> by late October.</li>

<p>For ages, we’ve been sending out push notifications like everyone else, but we were flying blind. We had a gut feeling that different messaging styles mattered, but we didn&#8217;t know <strong>which ones were actually working</strong>! We needed to find the golden ticket—the caption style that would make our users stop what they were doing and tap into our app.</p>

<p>Our old assumption was just to <em>tell</em> people about the value, but we suspected we were missing out on a huge opportunity by not speaking their language.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Background / Problem</strong></h3>

<p>We decided to go all-in and run a massive test. We collected data from <strong>39 different campaigns</strong> and grouped them into five distinct caption styles. Crucially, we made sure to test each style across all our user tiers (low S-Coin, high S-Coin, etc.) so we could be sure the results were about the <strong>message</strong>, not just the user’s wallet size.</p>

<p>Here were the five styles we pitted against each other:</p>

<ol start="1" class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity:</strong> <em>(&#8220;<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f381.png" alt="🎁" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> A Gift For You,&#8221; &#8220;Unlock Your VIP Reward&#8221;)</em> &#8211; Making it feel like a personal message.</li>

<li><strong>Curiosity &amp; Question-based:</strong> <em>(&#8220;<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2753.png" alt="❓" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Do You Know?&#8221;)</em> &#8211; Making them tap to find the answer.</li>

<li><strong>Scarcity &amp; Price Anchor:</strong> <em>(&#8220;Limited stock! Redeem this reward TODAY <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f3f7.png" alt="🏷" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" />&#8221;)</em> &#8211; Highlighting limited supply and value.</li>

<li><strong>Social Proof &amp; FOMO:</strong> <em>(&#8220;2,497 Users Viewed Recently&#8221;)</em> &#8211; Leveraging the fear of missing out.</li>

<li><strong>Urgency &amp; Value Proposition:</strong> <em>(&#8220;<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/23f0.png" alt="⏰" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Don&#8217;t Miss Out!&#8221;)</em> &#8211; Just shouting, &#8220;Hurry up!&#8221;</li>
</ol>

<p>We blasted <strong>over 208,000 notifications</strong> to get a solid verdict. Ready for the results?</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Results / Impact</strong></h3>

<p>The data is in, and the findings are crystal clear.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><thead><tr><td>Style</td><td><strong>CTR</strong></td></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity</strong></td><td><strong>3.62%</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Curiosity &amp; Question-based</td><td>3.10%</td></tr><tr><td>Scarcity &amp; Price Anchor</td><td>2.96%</td></tr><tr><td>Social Proof &amp; FOMO</td><td>2.37%</td></tr><tr><td>Urgency &amp; Value Proposition</td><td>2.22%</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Case Study 2</h3>

<p>Although S-Coin tier segments were already used for audience targeting, it remained unclear <strong>which message style</strong> — <em>Curiosity &amp; Question-based</em>, <em>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity</em>, or <em>Scarcity &amp; Price Anchor</em> — would perform best within the <strong>same audience group</strong>.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p><strong>Actions Taken</strong><br>To ensure fair comparison, we conducted an <strong>A/B/C test</strong> targeting <strong>identical audience groups</strong> within three S-Coin tiers:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Group A :</strong> S-Coin balance 2,500 – 7,500</li>

<li><strong>Group B :</strong> S-Coin balance 7,500 – 15,000</li>

<li><strong>Group C :</strong> S-Coin balance 15,000 – 25,000</li>
</ul>

<p>Each group received three different message styles:</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Curiosity &amp; Question-based</strong> — engaging users through intrigue or open-ended phrasing.</li>

<li><strong>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity</strong> — focusing on user-specific rewards and VIP treatment.</li>

<li><strong>Scarcity &amp; Price Anchor</strong> — emphasizing urgency and value comparison.</li>
</ol>

<p>CTR performance was tracked and compared across all groups and styles.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p><strong>Results / Impact</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><thead><tr><th><strong>Message Style</strong></th><th><strong>Delivered</strong></th><th><strong>Clicks</strong></th><th><strong>CTR %</strong></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Curiosity &amp; Question-based</td><td>22,185</td><td>440</td><td>1.98%</td></tr><tr><td>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity</td><td>22,190</td><td>580</td><td><strong>2.61%</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Scarcity &amp; Price Anchor</td><td>22,186</td><td>545</td><td>2.46%</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<p></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity</strong> achieved the <strong>highest CTR (2.61%)</strong>, outperforming other styles across all S-Coin groups.</li>

<li><strong>Message style clearly influenced performance</strong>, proving that creative direction can significantly affect engagement.</li>

<li>CTR trends were <strong>consistent across different S-Coin tiers</strong>, showing that <strong>message style had stronger impact than user tier</strong> itself.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Key Insight:</strong><br>Personalized and exclusive messaging resonates more effectively with users, driving <strong>higher engagement</strong> even among audiences with varying S-Coin balances.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Big Takeaway</h3>

<p>The <strong>Personalization &amp; Exclusivity</strong> style absolutely crushed it with a <strong>3.62% CTR</strong>! That&#8217;s almost <strong>30% better</strong> than the average 2.80% CTR across all our campaigns.</p>

<p><strong>What does this mean?</strong> It means our users don&#8217;t want to feel like they&#8217;re getting a generic announcement. They want to feel special. They want to feel like <em>they</em> have been personally chosen for a reward or offer. The message, &#8220;A Gift For You,&#8221; speaks louder than any &#8220;Don&#8217;t Miss Out!&#8221;</p>

<p>And here’s the kicker: The two styles that performed the worst were the most direct ones: Urgency and FOMO. Turns out, trying to scare or rush our users is the least effective way to get them to engage.</p>

<p><strong>Background / Problem</strong><br>Our initial assumption was that users with <strong>less engaged</strong>, leading to <strong>lower click-through rates (CTR)</strong>. Conversely, we believed that users who tend to be more active, would naturally show <strong>higher CTR</strong>.<br>To test this hypothesis, we created different message styles based on user tiers and observed the performance.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p><strong>Actions Taken</strong><br>We designed a <strong>targeted A/B messaging test</strong> with two creative styles:</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Personalization Style (for low engaged users)</strong>
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Target Group: Users with low engaged</li>
</ul>
</li>

<li><strong>Social Proof / FOMO Style (for high engaged users)</strong>
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Target Group: Users with high engaged</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ol>

<p>Each variation was sent with similar delivery volumes to ensure a fair comparison.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p><strong>Results / Impact</strong><br>The outcome <strong>challenged our initial assumption</strong>:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><thead><tr><th>Segments</th><th>Message Style</th><th>Delivered</th><th>CTR</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Low Engaged Users Group A</td><td>Personalization</td><td>7,530</td><td><strong>4.42%</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Low Engaged Users Group B</td><td>Personalization</td><td>5,844</td><td><strong>5.70%</strong></td></tr><tr><td>High Engaged Users Group A</td><td>Social Proof</td><td>5,306</td><td>1.62%</td></tr><tr><td>High Engaged Users Group B</td><td>Social Proof</td><td>7,365</td><td>2.06%</td></tr><tr><td>High Engaged Users Group C</td><td>Social Proof</td><td>8,110</td><td>1.90%</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<p></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Low engaged users</strong>, previously thought to be less engaged, achieved <strong>exceptionally high CTR (4–6%)</strong> when approached with personalized, reward-focused messaging.</li>

<li><strong>High engaged users</strong>, who usually perform better, recorded <strong>lower CTR (1.6–2%)</strong> under social proof/FOMO messaging.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Key Insight:</strong><br>Low engagement doesn’t always mean low response. </p>

<p>The <strong>right messaging style</strong> in this case, <strong>personalized and reward-centric copy</strong> can <strong>resonate deeply with lower-tier users</strong>, driving stronger engagement than expected.</p>

<p><strong>Background / Problem</strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Objective: Maximize <strong>App traffic (unique sessions)</strong> and <strong>session purchase rate (S.P.%)</strong> within a provided budget across <strong>Meta, Google, and TikTok</strong>.</li>

<li>Challenge: Platforms performed differently in terms of cost efficiency and purchase conversion.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Actions Taken</strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Compared <strong>Sessions (U)</strong> and <strong>CP Session (U)</strong> across platforms.</li>

<li>Reviewed <strong>S.P.% (U)</strong> to measure traffic quality (likelihood to convert).</li>

<li>Evaluated <strong>Google</strong> as the top traffic generator, <strong>Meta</strong> as strong purchase driver, and <strong>TikTok</strong> as emerging traffic source.</li>

<li>Implemented <strong>budget reallocation model</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Increased spend on <strong>Google</strong> for volume.</li>

<li>Strengthened <strong>Meta Sales campaigns</strong> for conversions.</li>

<li>Kept <strong>TikTok</strong> for incremental reach and younger audience acquisition.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Results / Impact</strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Google</strong>: 28,858 Sessions (U), strong traffic driver but moderate purchase rate (~0.15–0.18%).</li>

<li><strong>Meta</strong>: 6,444 Sessions (U), lower traffic but <strong>better S.P.% (~0.93-1.15%)</strong>.</li>

<li><strong>TikTok</strong>: 8,905 Sessions (U), with growing efficiency in engagement and future scaling potential.</li>

<li><strong>Budget Optimization Outcome</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Weighted allocation (Google 30% | Meta 35% | TikTok 35%).</li>

<li>Overall <strong>CP Session reduced by ~48%</strong>.</li>

<li>Session Purchase Rate increased from <strong>0.48% → 0.60%</strong>.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<p>Resulting in <strong>+20% uplift in purchases with decreasing total spend</strong> by 40%.</p>
